I. An introduction to the FFC
The FFC is an efed that uses Fire Pro Returns for the Playstation 2 as it's simming method.
II. A brief history of the FFC (Part 1)
The FFC started in late 1999, and was organized by Tyler Durden, Sabu and some others whom time has forgotten. It began as a tournament between various creators on the old Firepro message boards to determine who's creation was the best. The tournament was started, and characters involved began role playing about the tournament. This annoyed the people on the original message board, so the tournament roleplaying was moved to another board. The original tournament was dubbed Season's Beatings and was won by the Wizird, who defeated Kilgore in the final match and was crowned the first ever FFC World Champion. Since the tournament was such a success, FFC Control began running their own shows once every week or so, and thus the FFC as we know it was born. I began my duties as a booker for the fed in the middle of 2000, and began running shows, and eventually took over duties of running the website, and eventually the fed itself was placed in my control. I've been striving ever since to make the FFC an entertaining place to be where Fire Pro fans can get together. The FFC closed its doors officially as of August, 2003. However, one final card was held in early 2004, to wrap up storylines and have all of the championships defended one last time.
III. History of the FFC (Part 2)
With the release of Fire Pro Returns on PS2, I have decided to bring back the FFC. Season's Beatings 2005 took place as our reunion show and we are back and better than ever!
IV. FFC's simming engine.
The fed originally had its roots in FPG on Playstation, but moved over to FPD once it came out. The new FFC uses Fire Pro Returns on PS2 as its simming engine
V. Goals of the FFC
The FFC is designed as a storytelling fed. The idea of the fed is to create exciting storylines and matches. The idea is NOT necessarily to win matches and this is NOT intended to be a competitive fed. If your idea of fun is to make as dominant a character as you can and steamroll everyone, then find another fed to participate in as the FFC is NOT for you. The FFC originally had no logic restrictions and that resulted in some horrendouly cheap characters being made. We have tried using several logic rule sets in the past, but eventually have settled on a variation of the ruleset LordVermin uses for his EFW fed, as we felt that his rules allowed the least amount of loopholes for creating cheap robotic characters.
VI. FFC's Schedule
The schedule will vary depending on my mood and other things that are happening such as work. I usually will post one show every week or every other week, that will be Monday Night Fights. In addition there will be PPV's every couple of months. The original PPV schedule for the FFC is as follows
February: Bloody Valentine (Features the Bloody Valentine mixed tag team tournament)
June/July: Firecup (Annual Tournament, similar to WWF's King of the Ring)
August: Firepalooza (2nd major PPV of the year, comparable to WWF's Summerslam)
November: November Nightmare
December/January: Season's Beatings (FFC's main PPV, comparable to Wrestlemania or Starcade)
In 2005, things were changed up a little bit, as Season's Beatings was run in October. There will probably be another PPV in late December or Early January, at which time we'll probably resume our normal scheduling.
Regular TV shows will be text based, however the PPV's will now feature screencaps and more detailed writeups. This is a change from before, when I never used pictures in any of my matches. Times have changed, and I'm forced to keep up with the jonses as it will, however since I am a one man operation I simply don't have time to do a screencapped show EVERY week, I feel this is a good compromise and will serve to make the PPV's truly special and memorable.
VII. What was the infamous "Doctor Incident" that is referred to on this page?
The Docs (Dr. Stove and Dr. Ruthless) were two of the original members of the FFC. At first they were respected members of the fed who contributed regularly, and their wrestlers were generally successful within the FFC's ranks. That all changed when Nikanora (aka Sabu) introduced his latest wrestler, Trowa Barton to the fed. Both the docs were rather disgusted at Trowa Barton's logic and tactics (as is understandable, he was well known as probably the cheapest character in FFC history) They complained about Trowa, which led to the FFC's first logic rule set being created. However, that still wasn't enough. They created a character, Lord Sinister, whom they proclaimed was specifically programmed to beat Trowa. They then tried to convince Trowa's handler to have Sinister vs Trowa in a "Loser leaves the FFC match" This match obviously was not accepted (since it would be pointless to have a wrestler's first match be Loser Leaves FFC) The match did go down as a regular match, in which Trowa handily defeated Lord Sinister, who was never heard from again (surprise surprise) Dr Stove also created a stable of wrestlers called the TWO (Tecmo World Order) which were all characters stolen from Tecmo World Wrestling. His biggest annoyance was the creation of Mr. FFC, whose gimmick was to act and talk exactly like Jeff Jarrett did at the time. Getting back to the point. Dr. Stove at the time was considered one of the more respected members of the FFC by management, and was given the chance to book a show for the FFC. However, in his first show, he used it as a way to bash Nikanora and his two wrestlers; Trowa and Batouttahell, who was probably the SECOND cheapest character in FFC history) Then came the final straw. A rather harassing AIM conversation between Stove and Nikanora led FFC control to kick Dr. Stove from the FFC completely. Dr. Ruthless was going to be allowed to stay on, and FFC management was even going to allow him to control a couple of Dr. Stove's characters with Stove's permission. However, a few days later, members of FFC Control got an e-mail from Dr. Ruthless, saying that he was quitting, and blaming FFC Control for "politics" and only allowing characters controlled by FFC management to win (which at the time was ridiculous, since FFC Control's characters, as a whole, had a losing combined record) The Docs later tried to get back at the FFC by creating their own e-fed, which lasted about two weeks tops. With their e-fed they took every indirect way possible of trying to rip on the FFC. No one really caught on, the fed died shortly, and the Docs were never heard from again. Their message board was taken over by Boozerman.
VIII. What is the FFC's relationship with PWS?
As is well known, there was an angle at the FFC's Last Dance that was intended to lead into some cross promotion and an "Invasion" Angle of sorts. Then PWS closed down and those plans were put by the wayside. FFC and PWS members were going to start up a brand new fed called the UFWA (Unified Firepro Wrestling Association) which would have been the continuation of that storyline, however that fed didn't take off like we had hoped. Anything that happened in regards to UFWA did not happen in the canon between the two feds (In other words, storylinewise, UFWA never existed) One of my intentions when I decided to bring back the FFC was to eventually bring about that storyline and cross promotion. That being said, I am currently working with the members of PWS on possible crossover angles in the future. Also, they have graciously provided hosting for the FFC site, so I don't have to put up with Angelfire or Geocities or any other crappy free hosting service.
