FFC Version 3.0 Rules

EDIT LIMIT

  1. Handlers are allowed to submit as many edits as they can comfortably handle.  However, for new handlers (i.e. those who have not played in the FFC or PWS before) if you submit 4 or more wrestlers, at least one of them must be a female or cruiserweight wrestler.

REGARDING CHARACTER SIZES AND FEMALE WRESTLERS

  1. Giant Size is restricted and will only be allowed with management’s permission.  (e.g. Peter Pain is supposed to be a monster among normal wrestlers and is allowed to use Giant Size)

  1. Female wrestlers should use either the joshi or small size unless they are specifically designed to compete in the heavyweight ranks, and even then Medium should only be used if it really fits the character (e.g. Amelia is designed to be freakishly strong for a woman and a match for most men so she uses Medium size)

LOOKS AND PERSONALITY

  1. Looks are pretty much unrestricted, however I’d prefer no one use the Anime girl heads unless there’s a good reason for it.  Characters designed to look like bears, ducks whatever will be allowed but will probably be relegated to comedy character status (not that there’s anything wrong with comedy wrestlers J )

  1. Please don’t create a character designed to be a parody/knockoff of another wrestler (Austin, Rock, JEFF FREAKIN JARRETT)

CHARACTER CREATION RULES

Note:  In general, these rules are going to be a LOT more lax than previous versions of the FFC’s creation rules.  That’s because I feel like most of the people that will be playing have a solid idea of how to make a functioning edit.  Therefore, I don’t want to hamper people’s vision of their characters should function with a ton of rules.  If I feel like an edit is a winning machine or is dysfunctional in other ways, I will handle it on a case by case basis.  However, DON’T take this as having carte blanche to make a bunch of shitty robotic edits, because I WILL put harsher rules into place if I feel I have to.

EDIT MAKING RESOURCES

Here's some good articles for newcomers on making quality edits.  Credit for these go to Spunk and LordVermin, who have done much work on their own respective efeds.

New characters for both current FFC/PWS players and total newcomers will be limited to 150 total creation points until they prove themselves through Roleplaying and other things.  Management will decide when this point limit will be lifted for characters on a case by case basis

  1. Offensive Styles – Giant offensive and defensive style are banned.

  1. Defensive Styles – Shooter, Fighter, Grappler and Ground defensive styles are banned

  1. Critical Styles – Unrestricted, however if you use anything other than “Finisher Only” it MUST fit the character, and I reserve the right to change it on a case by case basis if I feel it unbalances your character.

  1. Special Skills – Unrestricted as long as it fits the character

  1. Point Limits – There is an absolute cap of 210 points on characters.  I will allow you to distribute points based on how you feel the character should function.  Don’t take this as an excuse to load all your edits up with 210 points however.  Use this as a general guideline.

200-210 – Legends.  These should be the absolute cream of the crop, first ballot hall of famers (e.g. Kilgore, Peter Pain, Dusk, Hell’s Angel, Standard)

180-200 – Main Eventers (e.g.  Cheg, Mr. Z, Rex Lautrec, Juggernaut)

160-180 – Upper carders or guys who main event on occasion (e.g. NOIR, Lister, Boozerman, Brian Storm)  This is also probably the upper limit for Cruiserweights or female wrestlers of high caliber (e.g.  Keishou, Anna, Reiko Tajima)

130-160 – Midcarders, newcomers, cruiserweights and joshi.  This is a pretty good point range for most edits, and it’s perfectly possible to make an edit who stands a fighting chance against the upper tier guys in this point range.

100-130 – Lower card guys that aren’t as pathetic as the guys beneath them, in other words guys who will usually get their ass kicked most of the time but might pull out a miracle victory once in a while (e.g.  The Sexxperts, Flaming Flyer)

Under 100 – Jobbers (e.g. Strong Bads)

  1. Offensive and Defensive Parameters – Make these to fit how your character should fight, however be realistic.  Every wrestler has strengths and weaknesses and yours should too.  Cruisers and Joshi should not have abnormally high power or arm power, nor should they have a high crush defense or stuff like that.  Big guys shouldn’t have high suplex, technic or submission defenses as a rule.  Again, MAKE IT REALISTIC.

  1. Keep your other parameters (Breathing, Body Part Stamina, Foot and Ascend Speed) realistic within the type of character you’re trying to make.  Peter Pain shouldn’t be able to have fast foot speed and jump up the turnbuckle in the blink of an eye, and Anna shouldn’t have insanely high neck or arm stamina.  Again, KEEP IT REALISTIC.

MOVESET RULES

  1. Banned Moves:  The Front facelock takedown (from front grapple) is banned because too many big moves can come out of it and abused early in a match.  Any fictional move is banned.  Running Elbow Drop, Standing Elbow Drop and standing face sit pins are banned because they are buggy.

2.  Restricted Moves:  Any move that uses Entertainment as a parameter is restricted and will only be allowed if it truly fits the character.    Moves that lead to a mount position (either top or bottom) are allowed but please be careful with their use and make sure they fit the character in question.

  1. Front Grapple Strikes:  Your character may have a maximum of SIX striking moves within their entire front grapple moveset.  You must have at least one striking move in each damage category.

  1. Ground Moves:  Your character can have a maximum or THREE submission holds when the opponent is grounded.  If you have Three, one must be marked as either a specialty or finisher (because I figure by that point, your character is probably something of a submission specialist)  You must have at least one pin in your grounded moveset, and preferably two, one from face up, and one from face down.

  1. In general, give your guy a balance of moves, especially in the grapple categories.  Don’t load him up with killer moves.  I’m going to leave it at that for now, but I will throw down restrictions if I see too many finisher fests.

CPU LOGIC RULES

  1. The golden rule is “Set your logic to make your guy wrestle the way you envision them”  however, there are some guidelines.

  1. Do NOT make your guy pick up/strike/pick up/strike etc.  In other words, don’t set the “Opponent Standing dazed” strikes too high.

  1. Finishing Moves should not be used at Small Damage EVER.  They really should only be used at either large damage or near death (Hence the name FINISHERS) but if you have a Front Grapple Finisher and want to set it to 1-2% at Medium Damage, go ahead.  Likewise with submission finishers from the ground.  Also, don’t set your guy to use your finisher too much, its use should be a special point of the match and that is lessened when a guy uses it 3 or 4 times in the same match.

  1. Characters must have at least 20% in Irish Whip in each category from Front Grapple and at least 15% from Back Grapple.  The R1 Button Grapple Headlock cannot be used more than 5% in any category.

  1. Unless you’re a super mega lightweight risktaker, please don’t set your guy to jump off the top rope 70% of the time.  Make it realistic.  Even Jeff Hardy has reduced the amount of times he throws himself of high places for people's amusement.

  1. Entertainment as a general rule of thumb should be kept high (80/20 or higher generally)  Flexibility should be also kept high in general.

  1. Weapons should not be higher than 20/80 for use.

  1. Priority Combos must involve either a specialty or finisher.

RULE OF CONDUCT

I used to have a much more elaborate set of conduct rules, but I'm going to boil it all down to one phrase.   “Don’t be an asshole”  Nuff said.  If I feel you are an asshole, you may get a warning depending on the severity of your assholeness, or if you're too big an asshole, I will boot your ass to the curb!

REGARDING ROLEPLAYING

This is primarily a story driven fed, although I’m not going to FORCE people to RP constantly, preferring to keep things more casually paced, although I do want people to participate and RP on occasion.  I don't necessarily expect huge long RP's from people all the time, a paragraph or two is usually sufficient.  Basically I want people to stay active and keep their characters in the mix whenever possible and help keep the storylines moving along.  Remember that people who do a good job staying in the mix will be more likely to get pushed (during slow periods when I have to come up with matches/storylines on my own, I give preference to people who have been recently active first, then veterans second, and if worse comes to worse, I begin pushing my own characters down everyone’s throat and having them hog all the main storylines, which is something I don’t really want to do)

There are a lot of veteran characters from the original runs of the FFC that are going to be utilized here to beef up the roster and keep things interesting.  These are semi active characters because I may not necessarily have contact with their handlers, but I will use them to spice things up.  IF YOU ARE A FORMER HANDLER IN THE FFC AND YOU READ THIS AND YOU DO NOT WANT ME USING YOUR CHARACTERS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND I WILL REMOVE THEM IMMEDIATELY FROM FURTHER ACTION IN THE FFC.

Roleplays involving someone else's character CANNOT be done without prior consent of the owner of the character in question.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  The first violation of this rule will result in a warning, the second violation will result in suspension of the offender for one month, the third violation will result in a ban.  Promos where your character interacts with somebody else's character in other ways (i.e. talking to them off screen IN SECRET or talking to them on the phone) are generally OK, as long as the character in question doesn't actually speak.

If you are not actively Roleplaying, I reserve the right to book your characters in matches and storylines as I see fit.  This can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how much I like the character(s) in question.  Also, and this is very important IF YOU WISH TO PULL YOUR CHARACTERS OUT OF THE FFC, YOU MUST TELL ME SO.  IF YOU JUST DISAPPEAR ON ME, I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO USE YOUR CHARACTERS HOWEVER THE HELL I WISH.  By submitting characters to play in the FFC, you agree to this rule.

If a creator is suspended for breaking one of the above rules, any titles held by their characters will be stripped and tournaments/matches will be held for the vacant title(s)  Obviously, if a creator is banned, the same thing applies, except the announcers will probably make every effort to insult the offender during said match/tournament.

CREATIVE RULES

The FFC is currently a one man operation run by me, Z-Force.  I will strive to get up one show per week or every other week, usually on Mondays (The ever classic Monday Night Fights)  Normal shows are Text only.  If you have a problem with this, join some other fed.  Pay per views will have screen caps, or a combination of text matches with screen capped matches.  Or they might not.  Depends on how I feel.

CHAMPIONSHIPS

There are 6 Championships within the FFC.

FFC World Champion and FFC Intercontinental Champion - These two titles represent the top two singles wrestlers in the fed.  The Intercontinental Champion is by default the #1 Contender to the World Heavyweight Champion.  The World Heavyweight Title match is ALWAYS the main event on PPV's, unless there is a MAJOR reason for it not to be.  (i.e. a HUGE feud's blowoff match)  The World Heavyweight Title will usually not be defended on regular television except on rare occasions (after all nothing draws big ratings like a World Title defense on television).  The Intercontinental Title is usually among the top 5 matches on a PPV card, and would usually be considered the main event of a television taping.

FFC World Television Champion - This represents the best wrestler on Television.  There is a mandatory defense of this title on every show, matches will have a 15 minute time limit unless otherwise specified  TV Title matches are usually around the middle part of a PPV, and among the top 3 matches of a television taping

FFC World Tag Team Champions - This title represents the best tag team in the company and is equal in significance to the World Heavyweight Title.  World Tag Team Title matches are usually within the top 3 matches on the PPV, only below the World Heavyweight Title match and any major grudge matches on the show.  It would usually be the main event of a television taping.

FFC Middleweight Title – This title will be the replacement for the Gen-Z/Cruiserweight and Women’s Titles.  All wrestlers 105 kg and under will be allowed to compete for this championship.

FFC Carnage Division Title – This is a new division for FFC Version 3.0.  It is basically a revised version of the Hardcore Title.  Every match for the title will either be a Deathmatch of some sort or an MMA style match of some sort.  This is a title only the true lunatics and monsters of the FFC will aspire to win.

JOINING

Now if you've read all that, agree to all that and are interested in joining the FFC, shoot me an email at zforceffc@gmail.com  Be sure to put FFC in the subject somewhere, lest my spam filter catches it, or I decide to crumple up your email and feed it to my cats.  You'll want to have preferably an Action Replay MAX for the sake of transferring edits, although I might be able to take PS3 saves at some point in the future if I can ever figure out how to make them work and/or there comes a way to convert .max files into PS3 files (Yes I admit it, I actually own a POS3.  So sue me :P )
